Plain-language privacy.

Verstos.fi is a public company and portfolio website. It does not provide user accounts, checkout, a contact form, behavioural advertising, or an authenticated customer area. When your browser requests a page, the hosting infrastructure necessarily processes technical request information such as the requested URL, time, browser information, and network address so that the site can be delivered securely and reliably.

The site uses a self-hosted Umami analytics installation to understand aggregate page use. Umami runs without advertising cookies and is not used to build cross-site profiles. Analytics can include the visited page, referrer, device and browser category, and approximate location derived from technical request data. Verstos uses this information to maintain the site and understand which public pages are useful.

If you send email, call, or contact Janne through LinkedIn, Verstos processes the information you choose to provide together with ordinary message metadata. The purpose is to answer the enquiry, maintain relevant correspondence, protect legal rights, and meet accounting or other statutory duties when they apply.

The legal basis depends on the context: taking steps at your request, performing an agreement, complying with legal obligations, or Verstos Oy’s legitimate interest in communicating and keeping appropriate business records. Do not send unnecessary sensitive personal data or credentials.

The website and self-hosted analytics run on Railway infrastructure. Domain and network services may also process requests as part of delivering the site. Email and LinkedIn messages are processed by the relevant communication providers under their own terms. These providers may process data outside Finland or the European Economic Area using the safeguards available under applicable data-protection law.

Self-hosted Umami data is not deleted automatically by default and may remain until Verstos deletes it. A fixed public analytics-retention period has not been set. Direct correspondence is retained for as long as needed to answer the matter and, where relevant, to document an agreement or comply with statutory retention periods. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, consent can be withdrawn for the future.

Send a clearly identified request to janne@verstos.fi. Verstos may need to verify your identity before disclosing personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland.
